Medicines for treatment of the motor organs
The NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs), muscle relaxants and anti-osteoporosis products manufactured by Richter Gedeon offer a means of treating a number of types of illness.
NSAIDs

Today’s civilisation is increasingly characterised by a sedentary lifestyle, with insufficient physical exercise, even in childhood and youth. Lumbar pain (lumbago) and trapped nerves are generally regarded as the ailments of adulthood, and many fail to understand why a child who has not strained his lower back or lifted a heavy object complains of such symptoms. In most cases of this nature, doctors prescribe NSAIDs and muscle relaxants.

Among the rheumatological syndromes, the pain caused by inflammation or wearing of the joints, sporting and muscular injuries of varying degrees of severity, as well as acute and chronic lumbar pain require the use of NSAIDs. Owing to their complex pharmaceutical properties, these medicines act as both anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicines. Today, they are used not only for the treatment of rheumatological symptoms, but also for the relief of acute pain arising from a number of causes (toothache, earache, sore throat, gynaecological inflammations). Our product is manufactured under license for the Hungarian market.

Muscle relaxants

For the treatment of the lumbar pain (lumbago) that can result from long drives, computer use or gardening, doctors often have to prescribe muscle relaxants as well as NSAIDs. The opportunities for taking this group of medicines are limited by the fact that they cause drowsiness, and therefore most of them cannot be taken while driving, working at great heights, or together with antihypertensive drugs.

Osteoporosis

Brittle bone disease afflicts approximately 600,000 women and 300,000 men in Hungary. The seriousness of this condition is underscored by the fact that some 50% of patients who suffer a hip fracture will require nursing care for the rest of their lives.

Particularly susceptible to osteoporosis are ladies of shorter stature with a light bone structure, the sufferers of certain chronic diseases, and the takers of certain medicines. There is much that the patients themselves can do to prevent the illness from developing, by paying sufficient attention to maintaining a balanced diet and taking regular exercise. However, with age, the development of osteoporosis becomes increasingly inevitable.

Fortunately, today doctors have a variety of active ingredients to choose between, in order to provide the treatment best suited to the individual needs of the patient.

Depending on the patient’s age and level of risk, it is now even possible to prescribe a single package containing, in addition to the basic active ingredient, various concentrations of minerals such as Calcium and Vitamin-D.

In the complex treatment of osteoporosis, to prevent fractures and ensure the sustained density of bones, doctors also recommend the use of vitamin supplements to promote the infiltration of active ingredients.
